The University’s unwavering commitment to provide the students with par excellent education and raise their academic skills. CUNY colleges offer a seemingly infinite array of academic programs which is being taught by award-winning faculty, as well as sports, internships, scholarships and community service opportunities found on campuses. CUNY is a combination of quality academics, its remarkable affordability, the financial support given by it and the convenience of 25 modern campuses offers a remarkable educational experience.
CUNYfirst stands for Fully Integrated Resources and Services Tool and for CUNY it means a massive upgrade on how we will do things in the future. In student administration, Human Resources and Finance, the new CUNYfirst processes will change on how we do everything from registering for classes to bill payments.
CUNYfirst applications will be replaced by aging legacy systems like SIMS and CUPS that will provide us streamline and standardize many of the things we do at our colleges. CUNYfirst applications will be implemented in phases. Base processes for business, HR and academic structure will be created first, then with enhancements and new modules being added in the coming years, everyone who is working for CUNY will be trained to use the newly available tools in CUNYfirst with training available in classes or on-line. The CUNYfirst Project is intended to establish CUNY policies, processes and procedures well into the future.
